TOMORROW: Not One Penny People’s Filibuster to Stop Tax Cuts for Billionaires

Rally Comes as Senate Republicans Advance A Disastrous Tax Plan, Which Benefits the Wealthy and Well-Connected at the Expense of Working Families

Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, Senate Republicans in the Budget Committee voted to advance their disastrous plan that gives tax breaks to the richest Americans and wealthy corporations while raising taxes on the middle class. This plan includes massive tax cuts aimed exclusively at millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations that put public education, job training programs, Medicare, and Medicaid at risk.

In response to the committee vote and in anticipation of full Senate consideration, Not One Penny, along with Tax March, Center For American Progress Action Fund, Americans for Tax Fairness, and CREDO Mobile, will host an all-night rally at the U.S. Capitol with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Members of Congress, leaders from progressive organizations, and constituents harmed by the devastating proposal.
