WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, two days after the midterm elections that brought House Democrats a majority, Tax March and Not One Penny placed a full-page ad in The New York Times calling on House Democrats to retrieve and release President Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Since the tax marches on April 15, 2017 where over 125,000 people called on Donald Trump to release his tax returns, Tax March and the Not One Penny coalition have continued demanding their release. The coalition is now calling on Democratic leadership to fulfill their promise to obtain and publicly release Trump’s tax returns to ensure the American people know what his financial entanglements are and how he has benefited from Republicans’ shameful tax law.

In conjunction with the ad, Tax March Executive Director Maura Quint released the following statement:

“Donald Trump enriched himself by swindling hardworking families, cheating the system, and engaging in outright fraud. He has behaved no differently as president.

“Congressional Democrats must now use their authority to obtain and release his tax returns. There is still so much more to be uncovered about Donald Trump’s conflicts of interests and abuses of power—and the American people deserve to know the truth.”
