DAYTON, OH – On Saturday, December 2, at 12PM ET, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will join ‘Not One Penny’ and MoveOn.org Civic Action at the Dayton Masonic Center for a rally of the four-stop ‘Protecting Working Families Tour’ to oppose the harmful Republican plan to give billions in tax breaks to millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations.
In Dayton, Senator Sanders will rally local residents and community leaders against Republican attempts to further rig the system in favor of the wealthy and well-connected at the expense of working families.
The tour is the latest effort by progressive activists to stop the Republican plan to raise taxes on working families. On November 15, Senator Sanders led a call with MoveOn with 11,000 activists and organizers, and thousands more participating online. Combined, the Not One Penny coalition and its partners have coordinated more than 500 events in at least 40 states between October and December 2017. In addition, organizations working to stop the Republican tax plan have driven 100,000+ emails to Congress and more than 20,000 calls.
Additional stops on the Protect Working Families Tour include Louisville, Kentucky (12/1), Akron, Ohio (12/2), as well as Reading, Pennsylvania (12/3).
Recent analysis shows that more than 87 million middle-class families would see tax increases under the Republican plan, while the top 1 percent would see an average tax cut of $32,510.
