Los Angeles, CA — As the House GOP prepares to follow in the footsteps of their Senate colleagues and vote once again on a tax plan that would give massive tax cuts to millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations at the expense of working families, Not One Penny has released five new ads targeting California Republicans who voted to raise taxes on the middle class. The ads, part of a six-figure buy in California, will begin airing on broadcast, cable, and Spanish-language channels across the state and targeting Representatives Jeff Denham (CA-10), Steve Knight (CA-25), Ed Royce (CA-39), David Valadao(CA-21), and Mimi Walters (CA-45).

The new ads in California are part of a national seven-figure campaign aimed at holding Republicans in Congress accountable for their efforts to rig the system in favor of the wealthiest Americans at the expense of working people.

“Congressional Republicans continue to blindly support tax legislation that is nothing more than a giveaway to millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations,” said Not One Penny Spokesman Tim Hogan. “Republicans are looting the middle class in order to line the pockets of the wealthy and well-connected. As the focus once again turns to the House, the Republicans in California’s congressional delegation should stand up for their constituents instead of the GOP’s wealthy donors and corporate interests by voting against this harmful legislation.”

Recent analysis of the wildly unpopular bill shows that more than 83 million middle-class families will see tax increases under Republicans’ plan, while the top 1 percent will see an average tax cut of $26,880.
