At 700 Events Across the Country, Constituents Continue Rallying Against Republicans’ Wildly Unpopular Tax Plan
Public Opposition Continues to Grow as Republicans Push Bill Through Congress

Washington, D.C. — With the Trump administration and Republican leadership pushing a last-ditch effort to salvage their disastrous tax plan, constituents continue rallying against efforts to give massive tax cuts to millionaires and wealthy corporations at their expense. Over the past two months, the Not One Penny coalition has coordinated nearly 700 events from coast to coast, mobilizing thousands of everyday Americans opposing the bill.
Recent polling shows that a majority of Americans oppose Republicans’ tax plans, including large majorities who believe that the plan helps corporations and the wealthy instead of the middle class. With large rallies and protests in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and other states across the country, everyday Americans are sending a clear message to Republicans in Congress: We will hold you accountable for your votes to raise our taxes and take our health care away.
“Despite the public outcry and groundswell of opposition against their toxic tax plan, Republicans in Congress continue pushing forward a bill their constituents overwhelmingly oppose,”said Nicole Gill, Executive Director of Tax March. “This weekend alone, we saw thousands of people rally from coast to coast against a plan that will raise taxes on 83 million middle-class families, strip health care from 13 million people, and target public services working people rely on. The American people will not be fooled by Republicans’ schemes, and we will continue speaking out against these efforts to take from the middle class to give to millionaires.”
